s a way of zooming ahead of me…and way ahead of this blog. In May of 2023, Midwestern Books launched my lighthearted book, Stay Out of That Room, and within the first week it reached bestseller status on Amazon in three teen categories. Meanwhile this summer, I wrote the sequel to Stay Out of That Room about the family with eight daughters. The working title is The Big Bus Adventure.
The father purchases an old school bus – emphasis on old – and takes most of the family across the country to California. Along the way, the bus breaks down multiple times, they meet all sorts of people, and at one point they nearly slide off a mountain. What else could go wrong? Watch for a spring 2024 release. Along the way, I’ll share the final title and cover art when it’s available.

Clare Bills is a Minnesota author with three published novels. She holds an MS in journalism, three BA degrees and is a graduate of Brown Institute for broadcasting. She worked in radio, public relations while also teaching at Iowa State University. She's also completed courses in writing from the Institute of Children's Literature, and novel writing from Jerry Jenkins, Susie May Warren, and James Scott Bell.
