Wonderful book I purchased this book after talking with Clare’s family member unknowingly! I gave her a book to read and she told me about Mountains of Trouble! We have spent the last week conversing over the books.
Mountains of Trouble is a wonderfully written book about Cora and her hard life! The way Clare wrote the “slang” was fun to read! What was even better was it was about Iowa my home state!

If you’re looking for a good can’t put the book down, read may I suggest Mountains of Trouble!

I have read both of Clare’s books and they are awesome! It has been a long time since I picked up a book and couldn’t put it down! Both of them are so wholesome and family orientated. Get them both, you won’t be disappointed!

This actually surprised me in that it was a great read and definitely exceeded my expectations since I hadn’t previously read this author. After finishing the book I found it was based on a true story, which made it even better. It was one of those books that I found hard to put down.

I started reading about Cora’s life and couldn’t put the book down. Cora showed incredible courage and strength in the face of adversity and trauma, and I found her story both sad and inspiring. The fact that this is based on a true story makes the read even more compelling. I can’t wait to read the sequel!
