About Clare
Clare and her husband have been married for decades. They live in the woods of Minnesota, along with their rescue Bennie-the-dog. (He also answers to Benny!) Together, they have three amazing adult kids, seven wonderful grandchildren, and a precious great-grandchild.
Clare has seven sisters. No brothers. Their father said he felt like he was living in a convent while they prayed Grace and ate in two long rows at the immense dinner table.
She earned three BA degrees in theater and speech, humanities, and costuming arts. When costuming turned into drudgery, she went back to school at Brown Institute for Broadcasting and after she graduated, she worked for about seven years in radio news. As a mother of three young children, she commuted 50 miles each way to Iowa State University and earned an MS in journalism and mass communications in less than two years. She taught at Iowa State for many years and also worked in public relations for a community college and later for the City of Ames. She’s been published dozens of times as a freelance writer and now has three published novels, with a fourth expected to be published in May 2024.
Her first two novels have both been given five-star reviews from Readers’ Favorite, a national book review site.
